Overview :
Banashankari is a suburb located near to south Bangalore. It is abbreviated as BSK. The locality get its name from the Banashankari Amma Temple on Kanakapura Road, one of the Bangalore’s oldest and well known temples. It is considered as the largest locality in Bangalore from Mysore Road to Kanakapura Road. It is surrounded by Girinagar and Rajarajeshwari Nagar in the west, Basavanagudi in the north, Jayanagar and Jp Nagar in the east, and Padmanabhanagar, Kumaraswamy Layout, ISRO Layout, Vasanthapura and Uttarahalli in the south. It is located at a distance of 9.7 km from Bangalore City. Prominent locality located close to Banashankari are Nagarbhavi, Vijayanagar, Jayanagar, Koramangala, BTM Layout, JP Nagar, Bommanahalli, and HSR Layout.
Connectivity :
The area is well connected by the BMTC buses service. Apart from that, there is a auto rickshaw, cab, Volvo, and metro service is also available from Banashankari. The locality also has a bus stand and a traffic Transit Management Centre.
It has excellent connectivity to Kempegowda International Airport which is located at a distance of 48.2 km via NH 44 and Outer Ring Road.
The locality enjoys great intracity connectivity through the Outer Ring Road and 80 Ft Road. Krishnadevaraya Halt, Nayandahalli, Jnana Bharathi Halt, Bangalore City Railway Stations are its nearby railway station. However, Bangalore City Railway Station is the nearest and major railway station which is located at a distance of 10 km via Tank Bund Road from where one can get the train for all the major tier-1 and 2 cities.
Phase-1 of Namma Metro with one of its route Green Line (24.20 km) has a station here.

It proximity to International Airport, Bangalore City Railway Station along with major IT Hubs such as Rajajinagar IT Park, EGL, and Manyata Tech park have been a plus point for Banashankari. People working in those IT Parks want their residence close to their workplace.

Phase-3 of Namma Metro with one of its route (Marathahalli - Hosakerehalli - 21 km) once operational will pass through the locality, thus, driving residential demand and development as well as consistent rental yield.
The Green Line of Namma Metro running between Puttenahalli and Nagasandra will improve the Banashankari’s connectivity to the other parts of the city. The metro station at Banashankari Temple ward will also help to improve the realty market here.
