Overview :
Banaswadi is a suburb located in the north-eastern parts of Bangalore. It is located at a distance of 8.3 km from Bangalore City via Dodda Banaswadi Main Road. This locality comes under BBMP. This locality is divided into two regions namely Chikka Banaswadi and Dodda Banaswadi. Banaswadi Railway Station is in close proximity and recently in news due to the transformation of the all-woman railway station in South Western Railway. Prominent localities close to Banaswadi are HRBR Layout, Kalyan Nagar, Babusapalya, Cox Town, Ulsoor, Indiranagar, Krishnarajapuram, Mahadevapura, Kalkere, Ambedkar Nagar etc. The famous Anjaneya Swamy Temple is situated here. Manyata Tech Park, city’s biggest technology park is situated at a distance of 6 km via NH 44 & NH 75.

Connectivity :
Recently, approved two pairs of Kerala-bound trains will now originate from and terminate at Banaswadi railway station. There is also a proposal for expansion of platforms. Once the platforms are expanded, express and superfast trains will also have a stoppage at Byappanahalli Station.

Newly launched midi-bus service from Banaswadi Railway station to Shivaji Nagar. BMTC buses, auto rickshaw, and cabs are easily available from Banaswadi and connecting it to the other parts of the Bangalore.

Banaswadi has excellent connectivity to Kempegowda International Airport which is located at a distance of 35 km via NH 44.

It is well connected along the 7th Main Road and Banaswadi Main Road. This further connects it to the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and offers steady connectivity to major areas including Nagawara, Sanjay Nagar, Hebbal, Hennur, CV Raman Nagar, HBR Layout, kaggadasapura, and Sarjapur Road.

Krishnarajapuram, Banaswadi, Bangalore East, Baiyappanahalli are its nearby railway stations. However, Banaswadi and Bangalore East Railway Station are the major and nearest railway stations located at a distance of 3 km and 4.4 km respectively via Dodda Banaswadi Main Road.

Operational Green Line of Namma Metro Phase-1 has a station at Baiyappanahalli which is located at a distance of 5.8 km via Swami Vivekananda Road.

Factors for the growth in the past :
Its proximity to the Kempegowda International Airport and the arrival of the Outer Ring Road connecting Banaswadi to the city’s IT Hubs has been seen the rapid development in the area and a number of commercial activities too.

Factors for growth in the future :
Proposed Namma Metro Phase-3 with one of its route Silkboard - KR Puram - Hebbal (29 km) once operation will pass through the locality. It will be a plus point for the locality, driving residential demand and development as well as rental demand in Banaswadi.
