Bommanahalli is a suburb located in the southern parts of Bangalore. It comes under the supervision of BBMP. It is located adjacent to Hosur Road NH7 and is proximate to the IT Hubs of Electronic City. Other prominent areas located close to Bommanahalli are BTM Layout, HSR Layout, Garvebhavi Palya, Jayanagar, Koramangala, JP Nagar, Begur, Begur, Singasandra, Harlur, Hongasandra, Kuvempu Nagar etc. It has close proximity to NH 44, AH45 & 43. This locality is surrounded by Begur Main Road, Hosur Road, Electronic City Flyover and Devarachikkanahalli Main Road. The locality has managed to set a niche for itself into a preferred destination for IT professionals due to its close proximity to the IT hubs of Electronic City. The locality is connected to major localities of Bangalore such as Koramangala, BTM Layout and HSR Layout via well-planned road networks. There are many garment factories in Bommanahalli which have provided employment to a huge number of women. A garment university will be established in Bommanahalli soon. Union Minister for Textiles Smriti Irani has already approved the proposal. The locality has gained momentum as it is located in close proximity to Koramangala and Jayanagar that are prime micro-markets of Bangalore. It is also well-connected to Electronic city via Hosur Road and the Electronic City flyover, Sarjapur and and Outer Ring Road, which are prominent locations for IT parks and business centres.
Connectivity :
The locality has excellent road and rail connectivity via road and railway. One can get BMTC buses for the other parts of the city. Cabs, auto-rickshaw, metro rail, share-auto etc. are easily available from here.
It has excellent connectivity to Kempegowda International Airport which is located at a distance of 45.9 km via Bellary Road.
Bangalore City Junction, Bangalore Cantt., Malleshwaram, Bangalore East, Banaswadi, and Yesvantpur Junction are its nearby railway station. However, Bangalore City Junction is the nearest and major railway station to Bommanahalli, which is located at a distance of 14 km via Bannerghatta Main Road.
Phase-1 alignment of Namma Metro with one of its route passing through the locality and has a nearby station Yelachenahalli at a driving distance of 7.5 km via 100 Feet Ring Road.
Factors for past growth :
Its proximity to IT Hubs of Electronic City and Bangalore City Railway Station have been a plus point, driving residential demand and development in the locality.
It also has proximity to Industrial Hubs of Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) which houses many well-known factories around it. Thus, providing huge employment opportunities.
