Chakan is a locality situated on NH 50 and is about 34 km away from the city of Pune. It comes under the jurisdiction of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. Bhuikot Killa and the Chakreshwar Temple are some of the places of tourist interest around Chakan. Om Sai Nagar, Shree Swami Samarth Colony, Swapna Nagari, and Ekta Nagar are its neighboring areas. Due to plenty of upcoming Automobile Industries established in this area, Chakan has seen multi-fold growth. Some of the famous places to visit around Chakan are Panaji Beach, Aurangabad, Kalyan, Bijapur, Satara, Nanded, Latur, and Badami. With over 750 small and big industries, Chakan has emerged as an Automobile Hub.

Connectivity
Located close to the Mumbai-Pune Highway, Pune-Nashik Highway, and Pune-Ahmednagar-Aurangabad Highway, Chakan enjoys great road connectivity with Talegaon-Chakan Road, Chakan Shikrapur Road. 

Auto rickshaws and bus services operated by PMPML are the basic means of road transport, and the bus services connect Chakan to Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad areas.

Chinchwad Railway Station, Pimpri Railway Station, Kasarwadi Railway Station, Dehu Road Railway Station, Dapodi Railway Station, and Akurdi Railway station is nearby railway stations to Chakan.

It has excellent connectivity to Pune International Airport which is located at a distance of 28 km via Chakan Alandi Road.

The proposed site of the new international airport is around 6 km from Chakan while the Phase III of the Pune Metro is also set to pass through the area.
