A city in the state of Karnataka, Chikkamaglur is located in the district of Chikkamaglur. It’s situated at the foothills of the Mullayanagiri range which has the highest peak in Karnataka. Chikkamagalur is famously called the Coffee Land of Karnataka.

Chikkamaglur district was earlier known as Kadur district. Located to the south-west of Karnataka, this city has access to a large area covered by dense forests and hills also called the Malnad region. This makes Chikkamaglur a favorite tourist destination for travelers.

The name of this city is derived from ‘Chikka Magala Uru’, which means younger daughter’s town in Kannada, the official state language of Karnataka. It’s also the spoken language of Chikkamaglur. The city is a prime centre for trade, commerce and education.
