Q: Hi all.. I heard there is some issue going on with forests in Mangar. Can anyone give a brief of it please?

Many developers and influential people have bought land in aravali forest region because it is in proximity to the Gurgaon-Faridabad Highway.. also govt is planning to set up of a mega tourism complex. they have assumed that there will be good realty boom and land rates may go sky high.. But as per rules, if the land has to be used for any non-forestry purpose then it is mandatory to get approval from the central government.

It is actually land grabbing issue.. Many real estate builders have occupied or purchased land in that area which is not supposed to be meant for sale. There was a news that was published in TOI recently regarding this. After that green tribunal got alert regarding the land grabbing by builders and it has sent notice to forest dept and Haryana govt, because they had supported the land encroachment instead of opposing.
