Housing societies in Mumbai

Q: I heard that a recent state government resolution is going to affect housing societies in Mumbai. Can you give some details as I also stay in one of the housing societies in Chembur.

A state government resolution which was issued five years back in Mumbai has come into limelight again. The same resolution now is going to affect over 3,000 housing societies in the city which stand on the land of the collector’s office allotted decades ago.One of the housing societies in Chembur facing heat is Shivsrushti Cooperative Housing Societies Association Limited which was registered in 1968 and had 39 cooperative housing societies.
