Gurmeet, the AMC Commissioner has proposed this plan in the municipal budget for 2013-14 and the standing committee will have to finalise the plan. Once it is okayed then the new tax plan will be applicable. But the hike is too high, suddenly increasing 100 % for properties in Ahmedabad is not fair I think.

Suddenly they are increasing 100 % of tax on house property? But how is this possible,? Is it fine to fine to suddenly double the property tax? When will the news be confirmed.?

Hi Sandesh, Ahemedabad Municipal Corporation has proposed property tax hike but it is still to be confirmed. The hike is 100 % for residential properties and 45 percent for non-residential properties. Rs 10 to Rs 20 per sq mtr will be increased per year for residential buildings. And for non-residential properties, the tax will be raised from Rs 22 to Rs 32.
