Gurmeet, they could not start the project that time because of opposition by landowners. And then the project was put on hold as the 2011 Assembly elections were coming up and also there were some land issues.

I too heard of this news Ranjith.. But why didnt the Trinamool govt complete during their time itself? They too had started the project with a good intention of supporting the helpless.. And what about the landowners from whom the land is taken for this project? Aren't they losing because of the project?

From 2010 it is heard that this project will be launched.. But not started till now.. But now the present Left Front govt is planning to develop the project. 2 years back when Trinamool was planning about this project the Left Front had raised objection, but now it is only planning to develop it. They say that it is only in the intention of providing homes to the homeless families which were displaced due to ECL mining activities.
