Q: There are so many projects coming up and many projects which were already under-construction are delayed. Is there so much demand for housing in India? What about the future of delayed projects..
Hello everyone, the data from the real estate sector is not being compared and analysed properly by the Indian government and the concerned authorities and that is why this demand-supply imbalance is happening in the realty sector. However, an increase in supply of new residential units later this year is likely to alter the prices of both under-construction and ready-to-move-in properties.
Last year, only 2.5 lakh homes were delivered and most of them were part of projects that were launched in 2006, 2007 and 2008. Since the completion of those projects had been delayed for a variety of reasons, the possession date had been postponed for 2-5 years.
Hi guys, as per a recent report, it is expected that nearly 5 lakh home buyers in India are expected to get possession of their new homes in this year. And this is the first time wherein in a single year so many houses are getting ready for possession.
Yes Sagar, the demand is increasing in urban areas since people are settling down in cities as there is good number of employment opportunities. And delay of projects has become a common issue and that too for too long.. then obviously there will be a mismatch.
