Hi Mr Dhiraj..As per plan initiated by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC), the Chennai metro rail phase I will be planned as two corridors. The First, starts from Washermenpet and ends at the Chennai International Airport covering a distance of 23.1 kms with 11 underground and six elevated stations. The second corridor starts from Chennai Central Railway Station and ends at St.Thomas Mount covering a distance of 22 kms with nine underground and eight elevated stations. I hope it is very much clear now.
Hi folks..i don't have clear idea about the exact number of phases, stations, corridors in Chennai metro. I am eagerly waiting for this metro project. Can somebody elaborate this. And yes how much has been completed there..?
Hey i also heard that the stretch between Koyambedu and St. Thomas Mount will have to accommodate a bridge over the Kathipara junction..it will be a very complex structure which will connect with the metro corridor on two sides of the clover leaf-shaped flyover in Chennai
Hi Sundar ..currently the work at chennai metro is on pace. Till date, around 75 percent of civil work has been completed. Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) is now focusing on the second corridor (Rs 14,600 crore), especially the stretch between Koyambedu and St. Thomas Mount which are two among eight elevated stations.
