Q: Summers are about to come and i don't see any initiatives taken by government to save city from water crisis..?? are they taking any..??

Hi all..i also heard that Theni-Allingaram and Hogenekkal drinking water schemes will also be soon implemented. Hogenekkal scheme will supply water to Dharmapuri and adjoining areas.Another one is Cauvery combined drinking water scheme which will also be initiated this year. It will supply drinking water to Cuddalore, Villupuram, Vridhachalam and Dindivanam areas.

There are few other schemes also ...a scheme of worth Rs 284 crore will provide water by January, 2014 to 1,430 rural residential colonies including Melur, Avaniapuram and Paravai. A similar scheme will also be implemented to supply water at 3,242 residential areas in Sivanganga and Pudukottai districts. Tenders will be invited soon in this regard.

Yes Varun government thinks for everybody..many schemes are launched in various parts of the state to supply drinking water. There is a drinking water scheme which will use water from Vaigai river. This scheme provides drinking water to Thirumangalam in Madurai district to 35 residential areas. He added that another such scheme will also be implemented for the rest 154 areas.

Hi..what about other parts of the Tamil Nadu state..will other parts of the state will also be supplied water regularly..?? Last year in Madurai..there was scarcity of water. I hope this time government is planning something good for us.

Yes the government said that this time Chennai will not have any scarcity of drinking water. The government has lots of hope with the commissioning of the Nemelli desalination plant in the Chennai city. Chief Minister has ordered to initiate this plant at the earliest. This plant will supply 100 million litre drinking water to the city.
