Kothrud is a suburb located to the western parts of Pune. Earlier, it was a village but slowly and slowly experienced rapid growth in the commercial and residential sector. Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd. plies regular buses from Kothrud which connect it to other parts of Pune like Hadapsar, Nigdi, and Swargate.
