The plan of National Capital Region (NCR) in India was initiated from the first ever Master Plan of Delhi during the year 1962. It is one of the first experimented regions of the country. The main aim of the NCR concept was to develop a metropolitan area with the nation''s capital, Delhi as its core.
NCR spans over 33,578 sq kms and falls under the jurisdiction of four State Governments named, National Capital Territory of Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Also, Delhi NCR is one of the largest National Capital Regions of the World.
Today, NCR is the metropolitan area of Delhi comprising satellite cities such as Noida, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon and Bhiwadi. The citizens of Delhi NCR enjoy continental climate ranging from very hot summers to chilling cold winters and little spells of rain during monsoon. Delhi and NCR is land locked from all the four sides and is around 282 metres from sea level.
Better connectivity and improved infrastructure in Delhi NCR make commuters life easier. Travelling is always an easy ride from Delhi to other cities with the coming of new roads and flyovers.
