Overview :
Mysore Road or State Highway 17 (SH17) is a state highway connecting the cities of Bangalore and Mysore in the state of Karnataka. This 15 km stretch from Bangalore Central to Kengeri NICE Road Junction is known as Mysore Road. The total length of this highway is 149 kms. It was built and maintained by Karnataka Road Development Corporation Limited. This highway passes through the towns of Ramanagara, Channapatna, Banashankari and Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Nayandahalli, Bangalore University, Maddur, Mandya, and Srirangapatna before entering Mysore. Bangalore-Mysore highway has upgraded to 6 lane and given status of “NH-275”.
Connectivity :
Phase-1 of Namma Metro Purple Line will have a station at Mysore Road and this will connect the locality with other parts of the Bangalore.
A broad gauge railway line runs parallel to Mysore Road and has stations at Nayandahalli, Gnanabharathi Halt and Kengeri. Maddur, Nidaghatta, Shettihalli, Hanakere, Channapatna are its nearby railway stations. However, Maddur is the nearest railway station to Mysore Road, which is located at a distance of 2.4 km via NH275.
