Old City Buildings in Allahabad more prone to Earthquakes
Allahabad city in India is said to have a record for the well maintained localities even though it is quite old. This city has two and three-storied buildings which are very old and this locality is said to have nearly 60 years old buildings that are Heritage Buildings in Allahabad. However when it there is time to face tremor, these old buildings are said to have the damage in majorly since the buildings in this locality claims to be decades old. Earthquakes is a nightmare to these old buildings and also predicted to be the most dangerous ones to survive in it for the residents.
Swaraj Ganguli the Town Planner of Allahabad Development Authority reported saying that they do not have a separate wing to have a check over these buildings that are designed to be safe in terms of facing a tremor and he also added on saying that the old structure which has three or two stories from the ground floor should be certified by the concerned authorities and the possibility of tremor is more likely to hit the areas surrounding Allahabad and Lucknow .
