Overview
Rabindranath Tagore Nagar which is popularly known as R.T Nagar. It is a residential suburb located in the north of Bangalore city. The locality is named after Rabindranath Tagore. It comes under the limits of Bangalore Development Authority (BDA). Apart from Bangalore Development Authority, BBMP has also introduced some civic amenities and infrastructural development in RT Nagar. This locality has two blocks, Block I and II. After the construction of the new airport at Devanahalli (Kempegowda International Airport), the area has become very popular in Bangalore. Hebbal, Rahmat Nagar, Nagavara, Gunatha Vihar, Munireddypalya, Kaval Bairasandra, J.C.Nagar, Ganga Nagar, and Kauser Nagar are its neighbouring localities. It is close to other high profile areas such as Sadashivnagar and Dollar’s Colony that led to the fast development of RT Nagar. Though the area is little far from the Bangalore City but enjoys proximity to the airport. It is just 7 km from Bangalore City via Jayamahal Main Road and 30.8 km from Kempegowda International Airport. CIL Road, Adi Kabir Ashram Main Road, and Jayamahal Main Road are the major roads passing through the locality and further connect with AH47.

Connectivity
It has superb connectivity via road and rail. The locality is well connected with Bellary Road. BMTC & KSRTC bus services are available from here to all the major parts of city. One can easily get private owned buses, KSRTC buses, and auto-rickshaws from the main road.
 

Kempegowda International Airport located at  a distance of 30.8 km via Bellary Road that can be accessed in less than an hour.

Hebbal, Bangalore East, Bangalore Cantt., Yesvantpur Junction are its nearby railway stations. However, Hebbal railway Station is the nearest railway station to RT Nagar which is located at a distance of 4.9 km via Service Road while Yeshwantpur Railway Station is about 7.3 kim via CV Raman Road/Bangalore-Mumbai Highway.

Factors for growth in the past
The real estate market of RT Nagar has seen rapid growth due to the proximity to prominent areas like Sadashivnagar and Dollars Colony or Sanjay Nagar. Rental demand is also at a high due to its connectivity to the other parts of the city along with nearby IT Parks. People working in the nearby IT Companies want their residences close to their workplace.

Its proximity to Kempegowda International Airport along with nearby IT Parks such as Manyata Embassy Business Park or Manyata Tech Park have been a plus point for RT Nagar, driving residential demand and development in the locality.

It also houses some famous colleges nearby.
