About Vashi

Overview :

Vasai is one of the fastest developing areas located in the north of Mumbai in Palghar District. This locality is historically known as Bassein or Bacaim. This locality is a part of Vasai-Virar and has a rich historical background. This locality is situated 59 kms from the mumbai and 36.3 km from Thane. A few decade back, nobody know about this area has now become industrialized with small and medium size industries. Nowadays, it is considered as one of the most affordable real estate destination of Mumbai. It is administered by Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation (VVMT). This micro market is surrounded by important localities like Nalasopara, Virar, Mira  Bhayandar, Navghar, Naigaon East, Nalasopara East & West. This locality is gaining more popularity due to a good shooting destination with national and international hit songs.

 

Connectivity :

Transport facilities are good in the locality via roads and railways. The Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation buses connects Vasai to the other parts of the city. State transport buses provide long distance travel from vasai such as Thane, Navi Mumbai, and Mumbai. Apart from that, auto rickshaws are the main sources of transport in this region

 

The Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport is located at a distance of 46.3 km can be accessed in an hour via Via Western Express Highway and NH48.

 

NH8 which connects Mumbai with Delhi passes through this locality.

 

Virar, Nalasopara, Vasai Road, Naigaon, Bhayander, and Mira Road are its nearby railway stations to Vasai on Western Line. However, Vasai Road Railway Station is the nearest railway station to Vasai which is located at a distance of 2.3 km via Navghar Vasai Road and can be accessed in 20 mins.

 

Proposed & Planned Infra :

Proposed for 122-hectare Wadala Truck Terminal to be developed as Mumbai’s 3rd official CBD, after Nariman Point and BKC.

 

Moreover, in the regional plan 3 more SBDs (Secondary Business Districts) namely Bhiwandi, Kalyan, and Panvel.

 

Planned for phase-1 Inland Waterways route linking Vasai-Thane-Kalyan. This water route will have approximately 9 stop over in either direction.

 

The Vasai-Alibaug Corridor project of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) will improve connectivity between the two localities (Vasai and Virar) and major centres in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane.

 

The proposed elevated rail corridor between Bandra-Virar Coastal Corridor and Churchgate-Virar will also fuel developments in Vasai and Virar.

 

The Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) is another one that will pass through Vasai.

 

The proposed bullet train is also expected to bring a positive impact on the real estate market of Vasai.

 

Factors for growth in the past :

The eastern parts of Vasai-Virar is largely industrialized while the western part is mainly residential and commercial hubs.
