Overview Vijayanagar is one of the oldest localities in Bangalore. It is located in the western part of the City and it comes under the Bangalore South Lok Sabha constituency. It is bound by Mysore Road and Magadi Road, with Chord Road cutting through. Chandra Layout is one of the fastest growing localities of Vijayanagar, which houses some of the prominent people of Bangalore. It's the location that makes this place one of the fastest growing areas in Bengaluru. Nagarbhavi and Basaveshwaranagar are two prime areas of Vijayanagar which act as link to the industrial hubs of Peenya and Tumkur Road. Connectivity Many buses ply to different parts of Bangalore. Bus route series 61 is a direct bus from Vijayanagar to Kempegowda Bus Station/Majestic which is at a distance of 7 km only. Factors for future growth. There is also an excellent city bus connectivity with major bus stops in the areas are Nagarabhavi BDA Park, Malagala Park, Kalyan Nagar Bridge and Bande Maramma Bus Stand. Nayandahalli and Gnanabharathi Halt Railway station are two nearby Railway station to this locality where you can avail local trains for different parts of Bangalore City. Well-connected to the northern parts of the City through Magadi Road and West of Chord Road, it also has easy access to the southern parts of the City through Mysore Road. This area enjoys excellent connectivity to Kempegowda International Airport (39.8 km farther) via Bellary Road that can be covered in 1h 20m.   Factors for future growth It has close proximity to the Rajajinagar IT Park. The reason Vijayanagar managed to attract home buyers in the past was the relatively affordable land prices in the area when compared with other destinations like Rajajinagar, Malleswaram or Basaveshwaranagar. Institute of Technology, M. S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology, the Bangalore University and the National Law School of India University. Bangalore University, National Law School of India University, RV College of Engineering and PES Institute of Technology, all in close proximity to the area. Health care facilities is also good in the locality as it has close access to some nearby hospitals such as saikrupa Hospitals for women, Maruthi Hospital, Fortis Hospital and Kaade Hospital within 0.6 mtr to 3.5 kms. Gopalan Legacy Mall, Golden Heights, ETA Namma Mall, Gopalan Arcade Mall and Mantri Square Mall are some of the mall in the vicinity which serves the needs of the people of this locality.     Major issues The major drawback of this locality is that there has been no major organised retail developments here. Traffic congestion is also a major drawback for this locality.
