Landlords & tenants in Mumbai, let’s hear you take a big, hearty sigh!
A recent police circular clearly states that all you need to do before renting/renting out a property is send a copy of your rental agreement to your local police station via a registered post. The once unnecessarily lengthy procedure required a prospective tenant to obtain an NOC from the nearest police station. This is no more needed.
A copy of the rental agreement signed between the owner and tenant will be kept in the police station as a legal record. On receiving this document, the police station will issue an acknowledgement receipt of the same. For the society staff, this acknowledgement will serve as a proof that the tenant data is now recorded with the police. Police officials however made it clear that in case a given data is found incorrect, the owner concerned will be held responsible.
It has been observed over the years that landlords and tenants waste days at the police station, are subjected to bribery and are expected to pay an extra amount under the table to officials for making the NOC obtaining process easier than necessary. Police officers are hoping this new decision will help owners be more open to submitting authentic information on their tenants.
If you’re looking to rent a house in Mumbai, you can now happily skip this once-compulsory mundane administrative step and quickly occupy your new home, thanks to this new ruling.
To be honest, we are quite happy with this new development.
What is your take on this new ruling concerning owners/tenants in Mumbai? Do you believe this decision must be reconsidered, and that NOC might be a ‘hectic yet necessary’ document?

Now you will be taken to the Manage Inventory screen. This page gives you a complete snapshot of all stock items in you have added.

To make this module more comprehensive, we also allow you to track the value of inventory stock items. Enter the details of an invoice at the time of adding units and we will automatically calculate the value every stock item any time you need.
And oh, before we sign off we also allow you to export the data you see into either an Excel or PDF. Check it out for yourself. To get a demo of this module for your community click here. We have some exciting pricing plans for this module.
On the 18th of January, we organized another RightStep Cell workshop on converting waste to compost. It was hosted by VDB Celadon apartments in Yelahanka and attended by enthusiastic residents from nearby apartment communities, some being Regency Magnum, Mithuna White Waters and Pawani Residency.
The active participation by attendees and the amount of knowledge exchanged during its two hour session made it worth all the hard work we channeled into it.
The workshop covered the basics of waste management, why to opt for segregation of waste at source and the benefits of installing composting units within an apartment community.
Our mission is to convert every housing society in the city into a pro-green community, with each community sending minimum waste to landfills, and in turn contributing to making a cleaner, greener Bangalore. With this in mind, we are determined to offer you whatever help and guidance we can, besides our regular array of services (book-keeping, legal, finance, community management, staff training etc). This is essentially why we introduced the concept of RightStep Cells.
If you want ‘zero waste disposal solutions’ in your apartment community and want us to conduct a similar workshop for you, please click here to fill up the form right away.
