Any green office space available in Delhi ??

Q: Hi, I am very much interested in green living. I haven't seen any green office but I have heard that there are few in Delhi. I want more details about the pros and cons of green commercial buildings. If it's good I will plan to rent an office in Delhi which is developed on this kind of concept. Please guide me.

There are few more green buildngs like the new building for ministry of environment and forests (MoEF) which is under construction, located at Jor Bagh.. It is being constructed in a way so that it gets both the GRIHA 5-star rating and the LEED India Platinum rating. Another one is located at Sector 62, Noida.. It is named- "Green Boulevard” , it looks like a modern office complex from outside, but once entered in, the temperature makes gradual shift. The building has 12 IT companies and houses about 5,000 employees.

Hi Kunal, the Greater Noida building has recently won the Platinum LEED certification. It has got the highest points in the world for being a ‘net-zero energy’ building. About 30 employees have been working inside this two-storeyed office.

The design of the green buildings gives importance to energy conservation technology. The Greater Noida building, the administrative block of Bayer Material Science, is also built on green building concept .. It draws 100 % of its electricity from a photo-voltaic plant, and consumes 50 % less power than other buildings located in the region. The building does not require energy from any external source as the energy consumption of the building is low.

Green work places are in demand these days.. Ecotech City located in Greater Noida is one such green building. It offers office blocks which do not need any artificial lighting. No more day-long lights need to be lit, no AC required and no smelly interiors in such buildings.

Hi Pranab, the green commercial complex concept is slowly gaining popularity.. Many companies are showing interest in such buildings. As far as I know, there are more than 50 green building projects for office space in and around Delhi and NCR. I hope you may find some of them. But hurry up to book one as there is lesser availability.
