BMRCL has placed nets to cover the iron pillars and placed boards marking boundaries for where the metro work is happening. However these safety measures are missing at a number of places and some of them became old and torn off. The road near the Vijayanagar telephone exchange directly under the station is close to traffic, but commuters have to pass through a side road which is close to the Metro construction. Although the area is barred , without nets, commuters below continue to be at a risk

At Deepanjalinagar, the iron pillars are exposed to traffic and there are very few nets to catch falling things. Residents in that area are worried but they do not have any other option then walking under the Metro work. The main problem in that area is lack of space. The roads in this area are extremely narrow. But the engineers assured that they will be putting nets shortly.

The Metro construction work in Vijaynagar started in 2007 and still the construction is going on. Three such accidents took place and two of them were reported in Vijaynagar, according to Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited ( BMRCL). Recently an iron rod fell on a rider which brought the dangers of things falling from the sky.

Pedestrians have to be careful while walking under the Vijaynagar Metro work site, as they may get hit by vehicles anytime because of narrow road, criss-crossing traffic and lack of footpaths.
