@Padma,
Are you talking about the first phase of 23.4-km Belapur CBD to Khandeshwar Metro project, then it is really a sad news for residents of Mumbai. Do you have any information about its delay?
Lalit Verma

@Padma,
Well!!! according to CIDCO, they are to make certain changes in the original structural plan. They have decided to increases the rail car width to 3.2 metres from the original plan of the 2.9 metre keeping in mind that in future the Mumbai Metro, which uses the standard gauge rolling stocks, may be integrated with their metro.

Thanks Padma,
earlier i heard news on it that 73% of the civil work of the bridge is completed, while nearly 55-60% work on the 11 stations, proposed on the corridor, was pending. Besides, apart from that 15-20% of the civil work of the metro depot at Taloja has been also completed.

Well Lalit,
According to the official, apart from the civil work, the systems work will commence in a few weeks and will take 30 months to complete because CIDCO is developing the Metro project in three stages, comprising the 11.1-km Belapur-Pendhar section, the 8.35 km Khandeshwar-Taloja section and the 2-km Taloja-Pendhar inter-connection corridor.

Hi all,
Once again Mumbai Metro missed its deadline and now is expected to begin its operation by 2017 after missing the original deadline of 2014.

The metro services for Versova and Airport road station were stopped and will start at one go up to Ghatkopar with the upcoming metro construction. With the upcoming metro in this route, the apartments in Mumbai will have good price appreciation and demand as well.

The officials of the public agency claim that the work will be over by December 2013 but the private firm claims that mid 2013 is final date.
However, all the critical works like roofing of stations, electrical and telecommunication works are still pending. Furthermore, it is claimed that the metro will be open to public by December 2013.
