Q:Do the authorities know why dirty water came from the taps of residential houses in Bogadi? Has the problem been rectified or are there bigger civic issues like waste disposal that Mysore has to deal with?
Latest Answer: Sadly, this isn't even the only problem that Mysore faces. What about the waste disposal issue that is spreading far and wide all across the city? The Civic authroties are actually shying away from the issue as they clearly have no idea what to do. But the waste accumulation at Vidyaranyapuram is not a pretty site. Open land fills and dumping is never a good method of solid waste disposal. There must be more effective treatment plants and techniques that Mysore has to come up with. For example the waste should be moved to another place because the residents here are getting affected by the unhygienic atmosphere. Lots of problems to deal with here!
Latest Answer: I think the problem lies in the fact that Mysore seems to be trying to expand very fast! 10 years ago Bogadi was considered a satellite township but now it is very much part of the main city of Mysore and places like Hunsur are now considered outskirts. This vast expansion must be good for the economy but it is putting a strain on the limited resources and that is why it is difficult to deliver proper civic facilities equally in all the localities. Give it time, and probably Mysore will learn from mistakes and there will be not only growth but also development, if you get what I mean :)
