Q:I have a 2BHK in Mykonos, I received an email from Sobha that the electricity connection is getting delayed and they expect that the KPTCL charges are going to be increased. Did any other Sobha City owners get this intimation and are we expected to pay beyond the agreement rates?

Hi Tapan,
Sobha has agreed to provide power supply which includes laying the cable from location ‘X’ to location ‘Y’ through BESCOM and now if the location is changed for any reason that’s not appropriate to charge it on the customers. If laying the connection from Manyatha is having issues then Sobha should have approached more aggressively with BESCOM in the meetings and made the decision to tap the connection from Yelahanka much before itself so that all below work would have completed before the project completion timeline rather waiting for 2.5 years initially from Dec’2012 to till date.
Also, DGs are meant to be used occasionally when no power from BESCOM, but not to be used round the clock 24x7x365 days, this will deteriorate the DG life as well along with increasing the maintenance cost.
Thanks,
Bala.
