The primary railway station of Chennai, Chennai Central is situated 29km from Pattabiram, and takes close to an hour-and-half to reach via NH-205. However, it is more feasible to catch a train from Pattabiram to Chennai Central in the interest of both time and money. Chennai International Airport is situated 33km from this locality, and takes close to an hour to reach via SH-206 and SH-55.

Pattabiram’s growth can be attributed to the electrification of the Pattabiram railway lines, operating under the suburban railway network of Chennai. Construction of a road-over-bridge at Pattabiram railway level crossing, has further improved the locality’s growth prospects.

 

The development of Chennai-Tiruttani Highway, which runs through Pattabiram, has been instrumental in the growth of this locality, enhancing its connectivity and making it accessible via road.

The talks of setting up a financial city in Oragadam, which lies only 10km from Pattabiram, has cajoled many investors into investing here. Once completed, the financial city will see a huge inflow of buyer, seller, and investor traffic.

 

The proposal to start mini-bus service to suburbs like Tambaram, Red Hills, and Kelambakkam have increased the chances of instating these services in areas like Pattabiram. If the project is given a nod, it would definitely improve connectivity in the area, making it more convenient for the residents to commute.
