Latest Answer: I think the process is ongoing because land acquisition has been a problem for the airport. The new runway which was going to come would have come one the Mysore-Nanjangud highway. So, they will have to first realign the highway before they can do expansion process. I think the first thing the government should do before expansion of the airport is get more flights to the airport. Now there are very few flights flying to the airport. The government plans to acquire around 84 acres of land to expand the airport.
