Q: Hey guys, what are the steps being taken by the government for the collection of property tax in Mysore ?
Latest Answer: The corporation has collected Rs. 25 crore as water fee till November-end as against the target of Rs. 36 crore to be collected by March. And The corporation collected Rs. 140.42 lakh as trade licence fee till November-end, against the target of Rs. 254.7 lakh till March next year.

Q: Hello guys, is there any difference in the property tax that we will be paying in this year? I have heard some rumours that there has been some kind of a waiver this time, Is it true?
Latest Answer: Hi Raghav, As per mayor though the civic body would have to bear an additional burden, the decision was taken in the interest of the people. The standing committee has directed the GHMC commissioner to prepare proposals for the waiver scheme and bring them before the GHMC general council meeting for another resolution, before the same is sent to the state government for clearance in a week's time.

Q: Hello everyone, I have recently heard in the news that the property tax on in Hyderabad will be hiked in the future? can anybody confirm this?
Latest Answer: But right now, it is not clear whether VAT would be altered considerably, the officials said the changes would be moderate. For instance, a wide range of commodities including pulses, grains, electronic goods, computer peripherals, chemical fertilizers fall under five per cent tax category, and the rate may be changed to 5.5 per cent.

Q: Does Hyderabad have a lot of property tax defaulters? What will happen to these defaulters under GHMC?


Latest Answer: As a prospective homebuyer, you should know that for property assessment, you must submit building plan along with occupancy certificate to the GHMC. Thats where the problem lies right now. Since a large number of houses have not been assessed, collecting taxes from these owners would take a long time
