Latest Answer: Kalapatti does face some civic issues actually apart from just this canal. 2 years ago garbage collection was abysmal and there was open dumping of waste that resulted in a very unsanitary environment. Also there are a number of open drains in the area that need to constantly keep getting cleaned or there is no point of the drain being there in the first place. But property value is still quite high in this locality and it is also a well-developed layout. Still these issues must really be solved by the civic authorities.

The construction work is still going on, but I really like how the place is turning up. The Kalapatti Main road intersects the locality as well as the Saravanampatti-kalapatti road.
