The MCG has made it clear earlier that it will not be able to maintain these areas with property tax alone and has asked the state government for permission to collect maintenance fees as well. Because of this issue chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar has asked the urban local bodies department to see if the property tax can be revised in order to ensure that funds are generated.

Huda will recover extension fees, transfer fees and other fees related to plots. While 75% of recovery fees, maintenance extension fees, building plan application fees and composition charge will be given to MCG, the rest will be given to Huda.
