Have peephole on your apartment door as it will make it easy for you to see the person outside your door without opening it.
Ensure the parking space of your apartment is well lit especially at night. You should also make sure that the area has a security patrol and is access controlled. Keep an eye out for any dark corners, overgrown shrubbery or open courtyards.
Most apartments have various amenities like pool, gym, clubhouse and others which do not have security always. As an owner, ensure that the access is limited only to residents and the pathways leading to these areas should be well lit.
