South Delhi residents against BRT Corridor
After suffering for four long years, South Delhi residents have come out protested against Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Corridor.
It came into light after a poll conducted by the Central Road Research Institute (CRRI) for a study made compulsive by High Court.
The residents of areas like Panchsheel Enclave, Greater Kailash, Siri Fort, Chittaranjan Park raised their voice against the corridor as it was blocking the wide free road and restricted the commuters to a single lane.
The stretch of 5.8 km from Ambedkar Nagar to Moolchand was worth crores of rupees and the travelling time also has tripled than before.
Apart from increasing in commute time, there are other issues like reduced average speed of a vehicle, mismanaged traffic jam, etc.
