Old buildings to undergo redevelopment in Andheri
In Mumbai, a city of ever increasing population, recent emphasis is put on redevelopment. Especially in areas like Andheri, where old buildings are in almost dilapidated condition, the government has encouraged redevelopment of these buildings which has attracted big developers to come forward.
Experts support the initiative as they are of the opinion that redevelopment is the way forward in the city. As per the commercial viability of redevelopment is concerned, Andheri is at the top of the list.
The life cycle of most of the buildings which were built back in 1950s is drawing near the fag end. According to Durgesh Kothari, an architect with “redevelopmumbai.com”, more than 80 percent of the buildings in the area are in the process of redevelopment.
While the construction cost remains the same, the income gets doubled in redevelopment, which seems to hold a key of the future of Mumbai realty.
The role of project management companies like redevelopmumbai.com which has a team specialized in engineering and architecture, and that render services for constructions, reconstructions, restorations, and redevelopments of civil structures, seems to be on a roll in the future.
