When I contacted the builders earlier this year they said that it should be done by Dec. 2011 but now when I contacted they mentioned it will be further delayed but never gave a straight answer on how much more delay are we looking at. I will prefer that it is better to invest in a property which is already completed or which is about to get completed rather than investing in a building which has not yet started. Yes, the Kolkata government will launch the programme on a pilot basis at present at Bhubaneshwar. No the affortdable house is not for Kolkata slums. The Housing and Urban Development department say that soon after the launch in Bhubhaneshwar, they will be looking forward to launch the same in cities like Balasore, Rourkela, Berhampur and Cuttack.

I don't feel the developer would be able to complete the project in Jan 2012 also. Therefore, I suggest you to contact the developer by their contact number or visit their office and ask for the same. Long term funds was provided by NHB to housing financial firm for financial assistance in real estate sector. But now even NHB also planning to raise funds from the market. KMC could not do any thing regarding the pending tax that need to be collected from the defaulters. After four months of wait West Bengal Governor has finally given an assent to the KMC. Hi..i will not deny the issues of faulty land acquisition in Kolkata..but yes the market has also gained momentum. Many residential projects are being launched in Kolkata specially in EM Bypass and Rajarhat and it is expected that real estate market will show good growth in 2013. I have booked a HIG apartment in Greenwood Nest project of Bengal Shrachi at New Town Action Area 1 around three years back. I have already paid around 35% of the Flat value. Around a year back, Bengal Shrachi issued a letter to me giving an option to withdraw the money, as the project plan has not been sanctioned by concerned authority. As I genuinely require the apartment, I have not yet withdrawn the money.
As I am staying abroaad, I do not have any contact with any buyer of this project. May I request the other buyers to give me their contact details so that I can keep contact with you, as I am very anxiously waiting for the latest status of the project.

Recently I booked a flat which costs Rs Y and paid two installments total Rs X say. The builder sent me a receipt with a service tax added on Down payment @ Rs X*3.09%. This is exclusive of the overall tax charged for Rs Y*3.09. My question is if I am paying tax for overall cost at Rs Y*3.09%, is it even legal to charge tax on down-payment amount? Does this mean I have to pay tax for the entire amount i pay @3.09% above the tax of Rs Y*3.09%? Please advice.
