In Kerala, as per the new norms from Oil companies, for reticulated LPG system, an apartment having 300-500 flats will be treated as one customer and be entitled to only 6 subsidized domestic cylinders. Is that applicable in other states and if so how we can protest against this?
Hi Anil, are you sure about this information? I did not hear anything such till now.. But it is really not possible.. 6 cylinders per year for many apartments is not at all enough..
Yes. it is true and in Kerala media already started highlighting this issue. Our apartment got notice from BPCL territory office that they will give only 3 more cylinders till 31/03/13 at subsidized rate. They are targeting reticulated gas system.

Each gas connection will get 6 cylinders in year right?? I think every flat those who have got gas supply connection will be getting 6 cylinders..
I can furnish the statement from BPCL letter.
For reticualted LPG system, a society of multiple flats will be treated as one customer and shall be entitled to only 3 subsidized domestic cylinders from 14/09/12 till 31/03/13 subject to all residents having surrendered their individual connections. Beyond 3 cylinders non- subsidized domestic cylinders only be supplied. The rate of non-subsidized LPG will undergo change every month and rate for the current month sept'12 is Rs. 925 per refill of 14.2 kg.
