In the past, I never received any Municipal Taxes Bill. Initially, Hiland Park Owners jointly submitted petition for reduction in municipal taxes but in vain (understandably).

I have bought a flat in Casaulitma Thane "B" wing in March 2009 and registered in the same May -2009. I have received a letter from Lodha about 5% VAT and it is to be paid within 15 days of the receipt of the letter or else it will attract some additional interest. Although we registered in March 2009 but had made very little payments until march 2010 (after which the VAT was slashed to 1%). Do we still have to pay the 5% VAT or should it be charged as and how the construction progresses?

Hi Friends, the biggest problem is not about getting flat on time but about questioning Builder or Govt. how much an individual should pay extra amount as taxes to govt... in every scenario only individual gets pain... Due to this recent VAT our flat cost gets increased by Rs.700 per sq ft. If we were living in the bought flat, pain would have been less but that's not the case. Also the biggest problem in India is everybody is good in talking but nobody takes initiative to get relief from this regular pain, by bringing every one at floor and taking action against builder.
