What are the maintenance charges for property put on rent in kolkata? is it double of owners occupying their flats?

Hi Rajiv, The maintenance charges are fixed at per sq-ft rate, and thus vary depending upon the area of flat. For example, if the maintenance is Rs 2/sq-ft for a 1000 sq-ft flat, monthly charge will be Rs 2000 as compared to Rs 3000 for a 1500 sq-ft flat. In most cases the per sq-ft charge is same and does not vary depending upon the size of the apartment.
Dear Sajal thank you so much for taking the time out - what i meant to ask was the difference in maintenance charges when an owner gives out his flat for commercial use i.e. gives it on rent. I am told that in most housing societies owners who are using their flats as investments are being charged double the maintenance charges as compared to an owner staying himself. Can you please throw light on this?
