Raghvendra Gupta, Apartment Resident
Q: Hello fellow House Hunters/Owners :) Recently I purchased a flat in Luxor Apartments in Hyderabad Kondapur region and at the time of booking my builder told me that registration will cost me 6% amount, but 1 week back he told me that registration charges have been increased to 6.5% (6% payable as cash and 0.5% payable as DD). Is this information correct? I have already paid him 6% in cash and for the same I can see it getting reflected in e-Challan (i.e. whole 6% amount is reflected on e-challan) and 0.5% I gave him as DD towards "GHMC commissionar srilingampally" something like that. But he said that for 0.5% DD I'll not get any receipt. All in all my question is, that the amount being charged to me is it correct? Kindly help me

Latest Answer: Thank you everyone, I found out the rules and it says registration and stamp duty is 6% and since last 2 weeks they are charging 0.5% mutation fee which is charged by GHMC and that needs to be deposited as DD in name of "Commissioner GHMC". Also VAT on has been increased from 3.25% to 4.5% :(
