The lands which come under Tamil Nadu Urban Land (Ceiling and Regulation) Act 1978 will soon be under surveillance for genuine reasons.

Slum dwellers and other citizens residing in nearby areas in Chennai has been opposing the construction of high rise apartment complexes.

The complexes are being built in Perumbakkam, off Rajiv Gandhi Salai by Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board (TNSCB). In order to discuss the same a meeting was arranged between the Slum Clearance Board and the disturbed citizens.

However, the issue took a different way as the slum-dwellers’ representatives asked TNSCB to build those apartments in government lands rather than in their area.

TNSCB in their discussions tried to impart the citizens the good impact of the multi storeyed apartments being made.
