Find burnt garbage on road and get rewarded by BBMP!

No Comments Sub Category:Bangalore,Municipality Posted On: Mar 29, 2012

There is nothing new when we hear about instances of BBMP workers burning leaves and garbage on the street.

A year ago, garbage was burnt in a public space near Bagur lake which had many residents furious.

Despite all this, Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has finally on the call and has taken an initiative of penalizing residents who would burn garbage on road.

It also states that it will reward Rs 1000 to those who would find such defaulters and report to them.

Some of the contractors allege that when the garbage lorries will be full or space will be limited then the remaining garbage is burnt to dispose off.

Burning of leaves and garbage is hazardous to health and has increased air pollution in the city.
