PMC Patna to renovate Maurya Lok
Maurya Lok complex, one of the oldest and largest shopping mall of Patna, is set to get renovated by the Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC).
Along with the renovation, the complex, which is an important landmark of Patna, will be provided with some basic amenities too. There are around 100 state and central government offices at the complex and thousands of people visit the place every day.
There are five blocks in the complex and each will be provided with new water tanks and generators will be fixed in every block which would reduce the power issues.
Electronic gates will also be installed at the entry gates of the complex to monitor vehicles. The water tanks, lifts and generators will be maintained under public-private partnership (PPP) mode.
Hafeez Contractor, the 61-year-old legendary architect, is given the job of turning the complex into a state-of-the art commercial hub. The contractor has drafted the preliminary report comprising the initial designs and renovation plans which are yet to be finalized by BUIDCO (Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation).
