Proposed land price hike draws criticism in Madhya Pradesh
The new industrial policy of Madhya Pradesh is likely to be unveiled by the middle of the next month. The proposed policy has already started brewing up storms as it proposes an increase in the price of industrial land to Rs 40 per sq ft from the existing Rs 23.75 per sq ft.
The industries have opposed the move of the state. They are demanding that the state government’s agency concerned and district industries centre (DIC) should be asked to impose transfer charge in place of premium.
Industry analysts state that as state’s industries are already faced with poor infrastructure and high power tariff, any move to increase the land price will only discourage the existing players.
