Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR) or Rajiv Gandhi Salai is transforming into a real estate destination from a suburb in Chennai.
The setting up of TIDEL Park on Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR) in 2000 changed the landscape of the area. Premium residential housing market along the belt starting from Madhya Kailash, all the way to Thiruporur, and beyond have come up.
It has become essentially a part of the city with housing demand going up gradually. The location of OMR, with its proximity to Adyar, has attracted large scale residential development as OMR has a pricing advantage over Adyar.
The IT sector initially fuelled growth along OMR and now its location advantage has put it in a favourable place to become a realty destination.
