Centre and States agree to revise Land Acquisition Bill
The Centre and States have agreed to revise the provisions of the Land Acquisition Bill after considering the concerns of industry.
State Chief Secretaries and Principal Industry Secretaries have met and arrived at a consensus that provisions in the Bill need to be reworked to boost manufacturing sector.
The crucial issues where emphasis is to be laid are – land and work spaces made available at affordable rates, workers housing, densification through higher FARs ( Floor Area Ratio) for intensive utilisation of land, reducing the number of clearances required, with early transition to electronic mode of interaction with regulatory authorities at all levels and effective monitoring for ensuring timely clearances.
