Tension at Kukatpally with razing of illegal structures
Tension prevailed at Sardar Patel Nagar in Kukatpally on Saturday as the GHMC officials got demolished several ‘illegally built’ structures and houses while the residents of Sardar Patel Nagar-Kukatpally tried to resist them.
Accompanied by huge contingents of police led by Kukatpally ACP T. Sarat Babu and demolition squads, the GHMC town planning unit officials arrived at Sardar patel nagar in the morning. Even as inmates of the houses refused to vacate the houses, the officials directed the workers to raze the illegal structures to ground.
The residents staged demonstration trying to block the demolition work but the police dispersed them using mild force. Local corporators Shobhanadri and Bhanuprasad and occupants of the house who tried to obstruct the demolition work were taken into custody by the police and sent to Miyapur police station. They were let off in the evening.
