PMC has Rs 100 crore property tax to recover
The Pune Municipal Corporation(PMC) has prepared a list of nearly 10,000 property tax defaulters. The defaulters have more than Rs 1 lakh property tax dues per head.
The PMC has revealed that it has to recover around Rs 100 crore from these defaulters. The civic administration issued notices to these people and has demanded that they should pay the taxes. Fines have also been imposed on the defaulters.
There are 6 lakh residential properties and 75,000 non residential properties and also around 24,000 open plots under PMC limits.
