PMC chasing developers of illegal buildings
The civic body has send notice to the developers of the illegal constructions before the demolish drive but no one came forward.
The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) had demolished the illegal buildings in the city and now they are in search of the developers of those construction to recover the amount incurred for demolition.
Only 10 percent of the total amount has been recovered.
In last two months, the demolition drive took place at Pashan, Taljai, Janwadi, Dhankawadi, Kharadi, Shivajinagar, Gokhalenagar, Baner, Balewadi, Dhanori, Vadgaonsheri, Kalas, Warje-Karvenagar, Kondhwa and Kothrud.
The reaction to recovery was as usual poor. Developers or builders who owns the unauthorized buildings did not came forward to repay the charges.
PMC also do not have a method to get a consistent updates of the notices. Sectional Engineer of PMC, Mukund Barve, said that they are planning to set up a team to do the follow up.
