Home buyers tricked by developers

Real estate companyThe Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai has filed a case against four realty firms for duping flat owners.

Two real estate companies developed a plot of land in Ambewadi, Parel for constructing a 14 storey building. Once the building is constructed, it was demolished later due to some reason. The realty firms then sold the development rights to the other two companies.

EOW is conducting inquiries and so far, no one is arrested. Rajvardhan Sinha, additional commissioner of police who booked a flat for Rs 63 lakhs in the project but did not get one as promised.

Although Rakesh Jain, a lawyer, approached Kalachowki police station two months ago, only recently the EOW registered the case of cheating and criminal conspiracy against the real estate companies for victimizing home buyers to the tune of Rs 30 crores.
