Surya nagarThe housing minister is fighting hard for the Suryanagar Phase IV housing project of Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) in Anekal taluk.Suryanagar Phase IV housing project is located 34 kilometres away from the state-capital at Jigani village.

Suryanagar will come forth as the next most sought-after layout on the outskirts of Bangalore. As said by the housing minister, there is not much scope for horizontal growth through layouts in and around Bangalore as there is scarcity of land.

Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) will construct 50,000 apartments which will be spread over 2,404 acres of land in Phase IV at a cost of Rs 3,330 crore. This project will cover a category of buyers ranging from economically weaker group to high income group.

Karnataka Housing Board has developed 18,000 sites in Suryanagar phase I to III and has constructed 2,500 flats and 1,200 houses. It has been planning for vertical growth of Phase IV project by constructing 50,000 flats. The minister said that he will take crucial steps towards meeting the housing needs of the state capital.

KHB has taken the responsibility to provide quality construction on par with private realtors. The housing board has also taken the decision of providing basic amenities like street lights, water supply, underground drainage and civic amenity sites in all the layouts developed by the board in future before handing over to the concerned urban local bodies for maintenance.
