Apply for ration card in Bangalore
A new rule has been introduced with regard to the ration card in Bangalore by the food and civil supplies department. The rule says an applicant has to get an existing ration card holder who will attest the application and introduce the applicant at online application center made.
Ration card applicants say that the introduced rule is problematic and full of hassles. They say this process will give opportunity to fraudulence.
A resident in Frazer Town said that he applied for a ration card in January but failed to get an introducer for which he did not get the ration card. The card needs to have information about your family size and members, which is a must especially if you want an LPG connection. The resident lamented that no one was ready to become the introducer unless they are offered money.
Another resident said that no one was ready to testify without some good amount in return and he is still searching for a genuine introducer who will help him. The need to find an introducer has forced people to rethink whether they really need to apply for a ration card at all. The food and civil supplies department is also not responding to the queries.
How can you apply for the ration card?
1) SMS applicant’s name to 9212357123.
2) After you receive token number and a security code on your phone, open online ration cards application at the photo bio-centre in the presence of a genuine ration card holder as your introducer.
3) Fill the online application form and fill the required family information. Upload photographs and biometrics of your family members’.
4) You have to upload scanned copies of electricity bill, photo Id and address proof of original documents online at the photo bio-center.
5) The introducer has carried his original ration card and recent electricity bill while going to the centre.
6) Get a “self declaration” downloaded and printed at the photo bio-centre
7) Scan the signed declaration and upload online.
Applications for new ration cards won’t be accepted till the assembly election is in place.
